BANGKOK: The 21st edition of the spectacular
Food and Hotel Thailand event has come to a close. Leaving about friendships
and shared knowledge, which will resonate across the ever-growing progress of
the hospitality industry.
Keeping it cool like some of the amazing ice
sculptures on display, Food and Hotel Thailand has seen a growth of 30%
featuring over 800 brands with over 350 participants from 26 countries and 7
International Pavilions from Argentina, Bulgaria, Germany, India, Japan,
Singapore and the USA. FHT features a selection of industry suppliers with everything to do about
hospitality.
On display were a host of innovative technologies and productions
aimed at providing solutions to experienced owners
and professionals in hospitality. Tourism and Sports Minister H.E Mr Somsak Purees said, “It
is crucial that operators of hotels, restaurants and related businesses must promote
and support their staff to develop skills and capabilities to meet
international standards. They must also learn more about international markets
and apply the latest products, services and technologies to improve their
operations and services which in turn will help increase their competitiveness
and be on top of the market.”
Incredible live competitions were in action like the Baristas landing from every corner of the world to win recognition for their skills and talent in 2013. Among the challenges were demonstrations of ice sculpturing and food preparation.
Flairs of different cultures were represented in ambient music and dancing could be found across the exhibition hall.
Samples of foods and drinks from around the world were given to visitors free of charge and they were offered an array of great deals on specialty products direct from the suppliers. It was common to see a passer by with three types of food in his hands while juggling his cup of wine or beer. It is quite a sight to see :-)
Drawing large crowds of attention was the VDA
Asia Pacific exhibition booth adorning technology which could have slipped from
the hands of the roman god of invention, Hermes himself. On display was Power
Concierge, the innovative pre booking platform that demonstrated its ease of
use and flexibility.
Extending the marketing communications even before the
guest arrives at the hotel captivated the audience as both a simple solution to reaching your
guest and providing promotional offers and services before the guest reaches
the hotel.
The VDA AP Micromaster team assembled the widely sought out Online
Room Control system which gives guest the option to control their room lighting
scenario, climate control, and curtains all from the mobile device and/or from
the television. VDA Asia Pacific exhibition booth held the attention of visitors while demonstrating how VDA is revolutionizing technology in hospitality.
VDA Asia Pacific would like to thank the
organizers All World Exhibition and Bangkok Exhibition Services for their help
and time to organize this great event. VDA has been a proud participant for the
last 4 years in Food and Hotel Thailand as it proves continuously to be a
milestone in the hospitality industry in South East Asia. We hope to see you
again next year.
